F:\DPF\Wednesday News\UConn Natural High # 80 September 22 2009\ Mike D'Alfonso, coordinator of fitness and wellness at UConn demonstartes the annual Memorial Stadium bleacher run that NIRSA Natural High participants took part in on Tuesday afternon at UConn. The NIRSA Natural High is designed to offer healthy altneratives to alchohol and drug use. Eight UConn students completed. The 1st place male winner was sophmore, Edward Fitzgerald who completed the three flight run in 2.31 minutes. The 1st place female winner was junior, Nicole DiBlasio at 3.21 minutes.\Al Malpa

F:\DPF\Thursday News\Willimantic Third Thursday # 58 Oct 15 2009\"A Taste of Willimantic," the October Third Thursday monthly event has moved from Main Street to inside quarters for the winter. The host location is WindhamArts in Willimantic. Thursday was the maiden voyage of the change of venue in the midst of an art show by Nachomee Ray, an American Indian artist. Donations of food from pizza to Beef Wellington, along with crab cakes, pirogues and wine were included with the purchase of an admission ticket. Donators were the Main Street Cafe, Culinary Expressions, Pleasant Pizza, Nita's Restuarant, Opus on Main, Elm Package Store and Hosmer Mountain Soda. Live music was provided by guitarist/singer Gale Gardiner and dance music was played by the Time Travelers. The event was well attended. Another is scheduled for November 19 at the gallery./Al Malpa

The kitchen has been serving free dinners 5 days per week, every week for 12 years. There are usually 50 to 80 people who partake in the offering. Anyone wishing to donate food to the kitchen should contact Rev. Fred Shapiro at the church.\Al Malpa
