F:\DPF\Saturday News\Windham Middle School Bio Bus #1 Oct 2 2009.jpg\The CT Biobus, "a Bioscience Experience on Wheels" visited Windham Middle School on Thursday and Friday this week. Here 6th graders in Barbara Averys class participated in an hands-on bioscience experiment called "The Art of Forgery". Forenscics, art and history combined in the experiment as students were challenged to uncover the real Mona Lisa. Students performed gel electrophoresis to seperate paint samples from four recoved paintings. The resulting patterns are then used to determine which paintings are forgeries and which is da Vinci's masterpeice. The bus is equiped with monitors for students to watch as staff scientists demonstrate the process, which students are doing here. The students also had partners to share a lab station and work on the experiments.\Roxanne Pandolfi
